1st Anti-Tank Regiment
The Ontario Ministry of Education has established a program that allows Cadets to acrue high school credits through their involvement in the Cadet Program, at the rate of 1 - 2 credits per year. This is an opportunity for all cadets in any high school to accumulate credits.
Surprisingly, this program is under subscribed and at risk of being discontinued. We encourage all 2958 Cadets that are currently in high school to apply for this program. Applications are required by 26-Jan-17.
Attached below are details about the program and applications.
There will be a briefing with the opportunity to ask questions during period 3 this week (Jan 19). Parents are invited to attend.
There will be a briefing on Summer Camps period 3 this week (Jan 19). The briefing will cover available camps, expectations and the application process.
Parents are welcome to attend. The briefing will start at 2015 (8:15).
As well, there will be a presentation on the provincial program to provide High School Credits for involvement in Cadets.
There will be Marksmanship Practice Saturday of this weekend ( Jan 14) :
0900 - 1200 hrs
Please note that our practice for 14 Jan has a change of location. We will be meeting at Camp Fortune in the main parking lot for 0900. Training will be completed by 1100. Please ensure cadets have all their equipment dress for the weather. Bring a water bottle.
We will also have a practice at Terry Fox on 16 Jan as well as 18 Jan. Competition is on 21 Jan.
The annual Christmas Potluck will be held on Thursday Dec 15. Please see the attached for details.
For those of you unfamiliar with a potluck - everyone brings a dish, whether appetizer, main course or dessert, at least large enough to feed everyone in their family and some to share with others.
